Okay, HoM is important to people again now that we can see rewards and HA is dead (or so I've been told). So why not add a new set of weapons that only drop from the HA reward chest?

That might be enough to bring a few people back into it for awhile.

There are already lots of weapon sets, and I would prefer the development to focus their time on more pressing issues... new content, GvG update, Derv update, 7 hero parties etc.....

I think adding the new HA map would be a bigger priority than new weapons.

So instead of trying to give people incentives to give it a try, the best thing to do for HA is to let it stay the same and have people complaining about how much it sucks or how elitist people are in there?

So, if HA doesn't have anything to entice people to try it out or go back to it, and its full of elitist snobs that run poopway all the time, why would anyone want to go there?

I was also going to suggest a reskin of FoW armor that you can only get from HAing, but I can see that idea will go nowhere as well.

People won't try. They'll just complain even more about how only a small fraction of the GW player base have "access" to the new weapon skins, and how it makes the rich get richer and the PvErs get poorer blah bla blah.

HA isn't something that you can just walk in, pick up a pug and profit kind of thing. I'm sure most people who tried HA and quit have reasons for doing so, reasons that adding more rewards in the end chest will not solve.

Giving "incentives" for pvp is always a terrible idea. The incentive for PvP should be the PvP itself.

That said, the format of HA leaves a lot to be desired. The format needs to be addressed and they once said they were doing that (of course its been over a year since and we've heard nothing).

HA is dead because of elitism. Elitism causes lesser groups to form because of the whole rank-discrimination issue. If a player doesn't have a certain rank, that player's casted out of the group. That player leaves on a sour note, and it then becomes possible that the affected player permanently disregards HA. Now if you apply this to mass number of players, and factor in there the fact that GW1 is old and progressively boring [meaning players will leave out of said boredom over time], then those prospective losses add up!

On-Topic, though: I thing that the OP's suggestion to add more weapons to the HoH chest drop list will have no significant impact, and it will only benefit the current elitist groups [only]. So all the ranked players will continue playing, but the non-ranked and low-ranked players have no desire, or may try for a short while but quickly become aggravated by HA's hostile and elitist environment. That, and the time required in assembling teams also add fuel to the fire in HA.

A lot of ppl don't play pvp b/c of ppl just like you. Heck I don't like ppl in pve like you. It'll do nothing to increase the pvp population over time. Ppl will either just buy them or ignore them. Having the rewards in HA (cyrstalline and ghostly) don't sustain ppl in HA, nor would this.

I think those of us who haven't been doing HA daily since May 2005 should just write off HA just like those who belong to small guilds and alliances should write off GvG.

If I feel the need to take out rage on other GW players I have RA, AB, and CM to work stuff out on. Oh and CA if I get REALLY desperate.

You can't expect people to take someone into their team not knowing how good they are or not. I admit, the title is flawed but that's the only thing they can base a player's experience on. If they know how good you are, then good for you, otherwise, get your rank up by joining a HA guild or play with your friends.

People just like him (well not exactly like him since he's being "elitist" while only ever playing sin, but generally, the "high ranked" HAers) wouldn't be "elitist" if they know you have the experience (which you clearly don't). This is true. How can you expect to be fit if you don't get experience first. It is a closed loop, with those already in the loop being able to participate and gain more experience, and those outside the loop having no way to enter.

Of course, I doubt any of the HAers care. They'll just dismiss this as "talk from a bad player" or as "typical PvE whining". They always do.

Either slog your way through it, or make friends. There's plenty of new players for whom their first groups are from more experienced friends getting them to fill a spot.
